After a long winter, it sure feels good to have some sunny days to ride. We started on time from Shari’s at 9:30 with some 21 riders. Yes another big group, I guess I’m not the only one with some pent-up need for a nice warm ride day.

Drove up 101 to Mark West Springs Road and then over to Franz Valley Road to Hwy 128. I’ve ridden this road many times and I really think I am a bit spoiled. Damn, we live in a beautiful country and people travel thousands of miles to see what we take for granted on a typical weekend ride. Took 128 through Calistoga and then over to the Silverado Trail and then turned back onto 128 to go to Lake Hennessy. We took our morning break at the parking lot at Hennessy.

After the break, it was some more of 128 to Hwy 121 and then to Wooden Valley Road, and on to Suisun. Lunch was at the Athenian Grill on the water in Suisun. If you haven’t stopped here, I highly recommend it. The pastrami sandwich was a major hit.

The ride home was at the rider’s discretion, but a large group followed me to Hwy 12 and dispersed from there. It was a good day and we had two new members sign up for the club.
