We met at Shari’s at 9:00, kick-stands up at 9:30. Sixteen bikes and seventeen riders. The weather was overcast and cool. We left Shari’s and headed through the back roads of Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa, ending up on Calistoga Road. Over to Calistoga, highway 29 and on up to Middletown for our first rest stop and fuel. There we found sunshine, the day was getting warmer. After shedding a layer or two we continued up 29 through Lower Lake, Clear Lake and turned onto highway 20 east.
Traffic was light and day was warm. A lot of bikes, boats and people throughout the day. Riding through the hills and valleys, past lakes with boaters, fishing and swimmers enjoying the nice day. A lot of twisties and then into Capay and stopping for lunch at the Road Trip Bar & Grill. We sat outside in the shade, talking about past rides, old friends and great trips. Lunch was served with good food all around.
After lunch we took off for Winters and our next fuel stop. The gas station was a mad house with fuel being delivered and vehicles of all sorts wanting to fuel. We got back on highway 128 heading for Rutherford. More twisties, hills and valleys. We stopped at Turtle Rock for our last break, saying our good-byes and hugs all around. We left as a group and when we reached The Silverado Trail, we waved to those going north. As we went South through Napa. The total miles were about 220 or so depending on where you ended up.
A great day for a ride. Good company, good food and fun riding.
