We met at Shari’s at 9:30 with kick stands up at 10. The weather was cool and cloudy. 16 bikes and 17 riders. 2 new riders were with us today. Headed down Hwy 101 to the Golden Gate Bridge. Traffic was light and it was smooth riding. After crossing the bridge, we turned and went through the Presidio, then through El Camino Del Mar, up to the Legion of Honor, through Lincoln Park Golf Course, then up Clement St. stopping at Land’s End Landing for a break.
One of our riders was having electrical issues, so he headed home from there. We left the rest stop headed down The Great Highway enjoying the sun and view. We had to make a slight detour around the SF Zoo, so we headed down Sloat Blvd. to Skyline drive. A little traffic and a few stop signs, then smooth riding down 280 until we turned to get on Hwy 92. There were a lot of people heading for Half Moon Bay, it took waiting for 5 lights until we were able to get threw onto Hwy 92, then easy riding to Hwy 35 to head to Alice’s. We were able to make the turn as a group and the view was excellent riding down Skyline.
When we entered Alice’s parking lot, Mike got a great parking space and signed us in, about a 50 minute to an hour wait for tables. It was fun looking around the parking lot as it’s always a car and bike show. We finally got in and had a wonderful meal.
The ride home was out Hwy 84 through La Honda to Hwy 1. Traffic was still light most of the way home. We stopped for gas in Half Moon Bay, where we said our good byes. We choose to travel up Hwy 1 as the traffic was still light. The sun was in and out of the clouds, a little wind here and there, but good riding. We took Hwy 1 up to Skyline and back on The Great Highway and the way we rode down on El Camino Del Mar, and the Presidio. Onto the GG Bridge and up Hwy 101 with people breaking off to go home.
A good day and a great ride.
