If you missed this one you missed one hell of a ride. We had 20 bikes at the start with 25 riders. Kickstands were up and we were on our way at 9:30 from Shari’s. The first half of the route twisted us across west county to River Road and on to Duncans Mills. This is a great place to stop to have a coffee and a sticky bun.
After a half an hour we were on our way again, riding out to the coast and down highway 1. Through Bodega Bay and on to Valley Ford and the town of Tomales. In Tomales we turned inland until we reached Chileno Valley Road, another favorite ride of mine. From the East end of Chileno Valley we were only a couple miles from Rick and JoAnn’s Lavender & Honey Farm. We arrived at 12:15.
Several other members and spouses had already arrived by car which brought the count for lunch well over 30.
I can’t say enough about the hospitality shown by Rick and JoAnn. It was just wonderful. Rick gave a history of the farm and how he met JoAnn, along with how they produce their lavender and honey. Then it was time for lunch….and what a lunch it was. They grilled tri-tips and chicken along with mac and cheese, a salad, rolls and my favorite, a homemade lavender lemonade. And if that was not enough we had apple pie and whipped cream for dessert.

Thanks again Rick and JoAnn!
