The ride started out with two groups of bikes. One was led by me and then a smaller group followed us up to Friday Harbor to then split off to points east. This extended ride was led by Wade Roberts and 4 other riders. Those riders were Heidi Bigall, Gretchen, Doug Drake and Dan Shilling.

The group going to Anacortes and back was made up of 9 bikes. They were George, Heidi Faulkner, Bill Faulkner, Richard Alpert, Chris Goodfellow, Ben and Barbara Johnstone, Tom Cooke, Gary Pope and Richard Wallenstein. So at the start of the ride we had a pretty big group of 14 bikes.

Most days were about 300 miles long. The weather was just about perfect with no rain. No moving accidents (just a couple parking lots mishaps) and everyone that started finished. Very few missed turns and a couple pleasant unplanned surprises. Tom Cooke surprised us all with his bravery and there is a link to the video below.  Total miles were around 2,140 in 8 days, that’s an average of 267 miles per day.

Here is a video of Tom Cooke still proving he is one hell of a wild and crazy guy!  https://youtu.be/GWC8cYxoWng
